Program Description

Event Details

Death Café (www.deathcafe.com) is a gathering of people interested in discussing all aspects of death and dying. It’s not a bereavement group, nor is it a forum for promoting agendas, expert opinions, or products. It’s just about talking in a supportive, respectful setting about issues—too often considered taboo—related to end of life and death.

The aim is to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of our (finite) lives. The Death Café concept was started in 2011 in England: to date, nearly 15,000 Death Cafes have been held in 81 countries. Come for tea, treats, and stimulating, insightful conversation!

The facilitator, Nancy Reece Jones, has been a hospice volunteer for 15 years and has started Death Cafés in Whitefish and Cave Creek, AZ.
