Join Dr Marshall Bloom, M.D. on a tour of the Rocky Mountain Laboratories. This tour will cover much of the history of the lab as well as the current research scientists are conducting right here in Hamilton.
Tour Itinerary:
- Arrival: Participants are expected to arrive at the RML Visitor Center at 5:50 pm. RML has a visitor parking lot at the corner of 4 th and Baker Streets.
- Screening: Screen-in time will be from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
Tour Highlights:
- The biosafety training laboratory: Learn about safety protocols and procedures crucial for laboratory research.
- Electron Microscopy Facility: Explore cutting-edge technology used in microscopy.
- Lab Overview and History: Gain insights into RML's history, ongoing research efforts, and contributions to scientific advancement.
- Medical illustration: Learn how cutting edge graphic and animation techniques are used to illustrate and explain research.
- Ticks: Learn about ticks and tick-borne diseases
Important Information
- Duration: The actual tour will commence at approximately 6:30 pm and conclude at approximately 7:15 pm.
- Q&A Session: Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions from 7:15 pm to 7:30 pm.
- Participants must be 18 years of age (minors should inquire with their schools for private tours)
- No photography or filming is allowed by participants within the facility
- Participants should arrive promptly or risk missing the tour
- Photo identification is REQUIRED at the facility to participate in the tour (government issued ID only)
- All participants must register with their legal name 2 weeks prior to the tour date.
- Participants will have their belongings screened and walk through a metal detector
- All participants MUST BE A UNITED STATES CITIZEN to take this tour. (if you are not a US citizen and you would like to take the tour please contact Daniel at the library)
- Persons with firearms, knives, pepper spray, explosives, etc., are not permitted on the RML campus.
